The Best Kentucky Wedding Venues
Kentucky has more to offer than bourbon and basketball. It may not be my favorite place in the world, but it is insanely beautiful with a lot of really beautiful locations for weddings. It’s also a hit with destination weddings because of the scenery and, of course, the bourbon. Here are some of my favorite places to photograph weddings in Kentucky.
Limestone Hall
Limestone hall is smack dab in the middle of downtown Lexington. It’s a newer venue and I have the honor of photographing the first wedding that ever happened there (it’s not currently on my website). There’s also multiple rooms and SO MUCH you can do with the space. I’ve seen some truly wonderful and unique designs go into weddings at this venue, and every single one of them leaves me stunned.

The Pointe
One of my favorite Louisville Venues is the Butchertown Pointe. I’ve done a few weddings here (they aren’t on my website at the moment), and several sessions. The way the light comes into the rooms means there is SO MUCH potential for cool wedding photos. This is one of the venues I could shoot at over and over again and not get sick of it.

Pine Mountain Settlement School
Tucked away in Eastern Kentucky is the Pine Mountain Settlement School. It’s almost like an entire complex. There’s a reception hall, chapel, and a house to stay in/get ready in. You won’t have cell service but the serenity you’ll have from a wedding here is worth it.

Hemlock Springs
Another hidden gem in Kentucky is the Red River Gorge. If you’re a climber you’ve probably heard of it. Otherwise it’s a beautiful landscape of cliffs, rolling hills, and a peak into what Kentucky was like before it was settled. There’s a little venue outside of the Gorge called Hemlock Springs that has so much to offer. A nice forested ceremony spot, forested areas for photos and other activities, and open fields. I also had the opportunity to photograph the first wedding at this venue (not on my website currently).

3rd Turn Brewery
Do you like beer? Do you like old greenhouses? Then this is the perfect venue for you. 3rd Turn Brewery in Oldham County is a bar with a twist. They have the perfect greenhouses setup for ceremonies and other events. Not to mention their beer is delicious.

Buffalo Trace
Most of the clients that come in from out of town get married at Buffalo Trace. The bourbon tour itself is worth it to bring your guests here, but the venue itself has a lot to offer. If you’re into a more industrial vibe mixed with Kentucky charm this is the perfect venue for you. Plus the staff has ALWAYS been amazing.

Spindletop Hall
Another absolute favorite venue of mine. I have never had a bad wedding at Spindletop Hall. The Mansion is amazing and between the amazing rooms and the grounds it’s the perfect place to say I do. Plus you may end up in a very stylish bathtub for photos.

Red River Gorge
Or you could skip the venue all together and choose to elope in the Red River Gorge. There are so many beautiful trails and options that you really can’t go wrong!
