Santa Cruz Redwoods Couple Session by Los Angeles Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
One of my favorite things about California are the redwoods. It was always a dream of mine to see them in person. Now that dream has morphed into being able to photograph people in redwood forests as often as possible. There’s just something so magical about these living giants. If I could afford to live in the middle of them up in Santa Cruz, I would.
Also in Santa Cruz is a hidden koi pond in the forest. I couldn’t even tell you how to get there or where it is exactly, but it’s there and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve seen when photographing a couple. I’m not sure who put it there or why or even if it’s just a natural pond that someone decided to fill with koi but it’s definitely a happy little spot that I really want to go back to. Hopefully soon.
With the pandemic raging and not being able to get outside I’ve been fantasizing about driving the 5 or so hours up to Santa Cruz just to hike through the redwoods for awhile. I know that’s not responsible and I would never do that, but a girl can dream.
