Underwater Wedding Portraits by Louisville Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter
If you follow me on social media you know I spent a month in the Joshua Tree area for that last bit of work I had this year. The first part of that was for Ashley and Nicole’s intimate little gathering for their wedding and this surprise photo shoot in the pool of their airbnb.
I’ve been wanting to try my hand at doing photos underwater for a LONG time. Originally this shoot was just supposed to be in the pool, nothing underwater, all just fun on the surface. In the middle of the shoot I decided it was time. This was my chance. I left to go buy a fish tank because I don’t have underwater housing. Honestly, it might be the best $34 I’ve ever spent. There were some difficulties because the pool wasn’t THAT deep, but overall I love the way these turned out.
I talked about how I did this on my patreon, and I did walk away with a giant bruise on my arm. Worth it though. Especially because it allowed me to give Ashley and Nicole something even more unique within their wedding portraits. It’s always my goal to make sure my clients have the most beautiful and unique photos from their wedding day – and I think I succeeded with this one.
Plus now I have a tank and can get a lizard or something fun once I find a house.
