Washington DC Wedding At The Showroom

Hilary and Nick’s Washington DC Wedding by Los Angeles Wedding Photographer Brandi Potter

I really love Washington DC and everything it has to offer. There’s history. There’s museums. There’s beautiful architecture. And there’s Hilary and Nick. I shot Hilary and Nicks wedding at the tail end of a long trip. It was such a great reminder of why I’m doing all of this, and why I’m willing to put myself second when it comes to shooting. This is all about creating memories for my clients. I want them to have these heirlooms to pass down to their children and grand children. I want them to look at their photos in 20 years and be able to remember how they felt. It doesn’t matter if I’m sick or tired or just ready to be home, this is what matters.

Unfortunately, the day of Hilary and Nick’s wedding was a wet one. They had picked out several spots outdoors we were going to do photos, none of which happened. We ended up doing a lot of their bridal party photos in the National Portrait Gallery (my favorite museum), and the rest on the roof of their venue overlooking the Washington Monument. It’s always a pleasure being surrounded by such amazing art and history. I do wish we would of had more time at the museum, but am so happy with the way the day unfolded.
